On many occasions, a combination of fastening methods such as fully adhered, ballasted and mechanical fastening are used to secure a single ply membrane roofing system.

The three most popular types of single ply are Thermo Plastic Olefin (TPO), Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer (EPDM), and Poly Vinyl Carbonate (PVC) Roofing Systems. With one layer over the roofing insulation, single ply is a light weight system which is great for layovers and retrofits.
